Finding Good Books to Read

In the reading survey 10% of you used book reviews to choose a good book to read, and these are often a really good place to start.

Did you know you and your tutor can access “Books For Keeps” online which is a magazine all about books and authors and is jam packed with reviews.

To find it go to the Oliver Homepage

Look in the third column for

and click on the “Click HERE” link to open,

Look for the “Reviews” tab at the top.

You can then search by title, age range and year.

It will present the results with an image of the front cover – just click on the title to read the review.

If you want to borrow and read the book you can easily check on Oliver to see if the MRC has a copy available.

Remember that if we don’t have a copy we will buy a copy for you

(as long as it is still in print and isn’t hideously expensive!)

Just use the book request service or come to the MRC and ask.
